Savvo released an iPad version of the app late last year and an iPhone app this past spring. Some of the additional features being considered include giving users the ability to add beers to the BeerMapper database, directing them to stores that carry the desired beers, and placing delivery orders, Sheahan says. Savvo also wants to add beer-searching capabilities to its in-store kiosks, he says.

Competing against some of Illinois' most promising startups, savvo came in second at this years Entrepreneurial Idol competition held at Chicago State University. Thanks to the team of organizers for putting on a great competition, we had a lot of fun and met many great people. Besides running into talented and like-minded entrepreneurs we also got to speak with US Senator Mark Kirk! Two of the main criteria companies were judged on were viability of concept and uniqueness of the idea / business.

Savvo takes home first prize in the 2014 Elevator Pitch Competition hosted by Chicago City Treasurer Stephanie D. Neely and SCORE Chicago. In the 5th annual competition, hundreds of Chicago's brightest and most innovative entrepreneurs submitted their elevator pitches. savvo was selected for the top 7 and did a 30-minute segment on CAN-TV before finally beating out the final two contestants. Savvo was chosen for the Top 5 among 100 other startups in the 2014 TechWeek Launch Competition! We were honored to pitch our venture on Techweek's main stage. Congrats to Jail Education Solutions for taking home first prize.
Technori gathers 500 people together, every single month, to watch as five startups launch on-stage. Technori is designed to elevate the startup showcase to a level on-par with theater experience. Gathered are a mix of fellow entrepreneurs, investors, and anyone else who wants to find out about Chicago's next hot start-ups.
Savvo grabbed 1st place in The Company Corporation's quarterly executive summay competition. The main evaluation criteria were originality, creativity, the "wow" factor, and whether a substantial need is addressed by the business. The panel of judges was particulary impressed "...by both the spirit of innovation [...] and the marketplace need that savvo clearly fills." A big thanks to The Company Corporation for recognizing our efforts in innovating the wine retail industry!
Savvo was one of 40 startups chosen as semi-finalists in Elance's "Big Idea Startup Competition." More than 800 companies entered the competition, held in seven cities around the globe. We were one of the five semi-finalists from the Chicago Region to pitch on January 30th for a chance to be one of the eight global teams to compete in the finals on February 6th.
Savvo made Red Rocket's "Best Startup of 2013" list! In their second annual compilation, Red Rocket honors those companies that among the hundreds of startups they get acquainted with throughout the year, have the "a good idea, good team or traction" or simply caught their attention. As there are a number of great companies on the list, we feel honored to be included!
